Welcome to my web site. My art is full of symbolism, so each piece tells a story.
I paint using watercolor, mixed media, and acrylic.
I create my artwork to convey an idea or story using figures and symbolism. It is fascinating how symbols can be interpreted in different ways depending on the viewer, but I do create my pieces with a specific theme in mind. My artwork is based on religious themes in a tradition that goes back thousands of years (i.e Leonardo da Vinci and Michaelanglo). I research symbols, mostly Judeo-Christian, and incorporate these symbols into my paintings.
The newest evolution in my art explores the combination of the absurd in serious or traditional settings. Juxtaposing high art portraits with pop culture icons like game pieces, toys, cartoon characters, and graffiti speaks of the clash of generations, the influence of technology in society and the merging of our history with everyday life.
